Fronius International, a global technology leader in welding, photovoltaics, and battery-charging systems, needed to better align workforce deployment with fluctuating production demand at its Sattledt manufacturing and logistics site. To support this challenge, Fronius used Atoss workforce management to improve shift planning for around 500 production employees, with about 800 more expected to be added soon.

Atoss implemented rule-based duty plans that could be generated at the touch of a button, using production planning data while factoring in qualifications, employee preferences, and staffing requirements. The result was greater automation, flexibility, and dynamic synchronization of personnel needs with order volumes, helping Fronius optimize shift models and planning processes; the company is also considering expanding the Atoss solution to another plant in the Czech Republic.
