Case Study: Repsol achieves safe, rapid expansion of Casablanca platform workforce with Atos engineering services

A Atos Case Study

Preview of the Repsol Case Study

When Repsol needed to add workforce capacity, Atos managed the associated engineering challenge

Repsol needed to expand capacity on its Casablanca offshore platform from about 65 to around 100 people to extend field life and reduce helicopter transfers, which in turn required additional emergency evacuation capability. Repsol commissioned the specialist Atos engineering unit (Atos Engineering Services) to design a new lifeboat station, appoint a manufacturer, supervise installation and secure structural certification from Lloyds Register while minimizing disruption to ongoing platform operations.

Atos carried out detailed Finite Element Analysis, designed the mechanical and electrical integration for a lifeboat station capable of safely evacuating 40 people, and coordinated construction and installation with partner Principia (using NSO/ISYMOST to accelerate options). The project was delivered on time and on budget, achieved Lloyds Register certification, and enabled Repsol to increase workforce capacity and improve evacuation readiness with minimal operational impact.
