The Spanish Ministry of Health and AENA choose Atos to manage the health control form process for all passengers flying to Spain

The Spanish Ministry of Health and the Spanish airport operator Aena faced the challenge of managing mandatory health information for all air passengers arriving in Spain during the Covid-19 pandemic. Their goal was to replace a paper-based process with a secure digital solution to streamline passenger flow, improve health tracking, and better protect citizens. They chose Atos to develop and manage this new system, known as the "Spain Travel Health" (SpTH) service.

Atos implemented a comprehensive digital solution that included a web portal and a mobile app for passengers to complete a health form and receive a personal QR code. The system, delivered in just 25 days, digitized the process for millions of travelers and is used across more than 40 Spanish airports. The measurable results include the generation of several million QR codes for passengers from over 200 countries, enabling efficient health controls and powerful data analysis for contact tracing and statistics. This solution positioned Spain at the technological forefront of health safety for air travel.
