Solent NHS Trust, a community and mental health provider in the UK, needed to replace its outdated, out-of-support on-site telephony systems as part of a broader digital transformation. Working with Atos, the Trust sought a secure, more agile communications platform that could support staff across hospitals, offices, and call centres.
Atos implemented a cloud-hosted Microsoft Teams telephony solution for Solent NHS Trust, installing Teams on employee laptops, deploying Yealink handsets in hospitals, and migrating switchboard and operator consoles to Teams. More than 6,000 staff were moved to the new system, creating a single unified telephony service, simplifying support, improving the end-user experience, and helping the Trust remove its legacy telephony infrastructure and realize cost efficiencies.
