A Atos Case Study
St. Francois County 9-1-1, which serves about 85,000 people across St. Francois and Ste. Genevieve Counties, needed to replace an aging analog emergency-call system to support mobile callers, text and multimedia, and to meet evolving NG9-1-1 standards. The county selected Atos to modernize its public-safety communications, choosing Atos’ OpenScape First Response solution (including OpenScape Voice and GEMMA) and managed network services to replace legacy infrastructure.
Atos implemented a geographically redundant OpenScape First Response deployment across five PSAPs, delivered end-to-end GEMMA call-taking and dispatch software, supplied ruggedized field devices, and migrated the network to an ESInet/NGCS-managed service. The result: dispatchers can log in and answer calls from any PSAP, wireless location and multimedia call handling are supported, call management and dispatch were streamlined, and the turnkey managed network delivered roughly 50% cost savings versus the legacy vendor.
