A Atos Case Study
ITV Daytime, which produces four back-to-back live shows each weekday, faced the operational challenge of orchestrating rapid source and program changes across two studios and multiple productions without slow, manual matrix and cable re‑plugging. To solve this, ITV Daytime adopted Atos’s Broadcast Network Control System+ (BNCS+) at BBC Studioworks to give engineers a single touchscreen interface for controlling complex, mixed-format live workflows.
Atos implemented BNCS+ with a resilient distributed architecture and powerful macros, enabling control of 40–50 multiviewers, some 400 sources and 400 destinations, plus 14 incoming and 8 outgoing circuits. The Atos solution allowed hundreds of rapid switches, reduced program-change turnaround to under five minutes during COVID, and kept all four shows on air with only 25% of the team onsite, while providing a future-proof platform for remote and cloud workflows.
