Modernized credit application at retailer POS offers immediate approvals

Global Banking and Credit Providing Company needed to capture more in-store credit applications while completing a broader cloud modernization. Atos, via its Maven Wave team, was engaged to design and deliver a point-of-sale (POS) credit application channel that would integrate the bank’s modernized platform with a major retailer’s POS to enable instant, in-store approvals.

Atos/Maven Wave built a secure external API integration into the retailer POS, hosted services on Amazon ECS/EC2 with auto-scaling, and sped up disclosures using SFTP, AWS Lambda and SQS. The POS channel went live on schedule with zero defects and produced a significant, measurable increase in credit card applications and booking volume—exceeding both the bank’s and retailer’s expectations.
