University Medical Center, a large public academic health science center with more than 10,000 employees and a $3B+ operating budget, engaged Atos Digital Health Services to redesign cash management across its Hospital Billing and Physician Billing settings. The customer’s challenges included high manual effort, posting errors (including 835 file issues), frequent rejections, weak controls, and underutilization of the Epic Cash Management application.

Atos implemented a four-phase future-state redesign that automated manual tasks, optimized workflows, enhanced use of the Epic Cash Management application and automated journal entries and reporting. The Atos solution introduced real-time, daily and monthly dashboards, scorecards and training, reducing errors and improving reconciliation; the full rollout is expected to save nearly 10 FTEs and deliver annual cost reductions of over $350K.
