A Atos Case Study
Hrvatski Telekom, Croatia’s leading telecom provider (serving roughly 45% of the market), needed to capture the fast-growing IoT opportunity by launching narrowband IoT services while securely operating, managing and commercializing hundreds of thousands — and soon millions — of connected devices in real time. To meet tight timescales and ensure security, resilience and interoperability, Hrvatski Telekom engaged Atos (working with Software AG technology) to deliver a high-capability IoT platform for smart cities and Industry 4.0.
Atos’ Croatian team customized, configured and integrated the platform with Hrvatski Telekom’s mobile network and IT systems, developing new adapters and interfaces and enabling partner onboarding on a pay‑as‑you‑grow basis. The solution connects sensors, smart meters and industrial equipment to analytics and AI back-ends, and is credited with completing the largest Nb‑IoT network in Croatia — making the platform scalable to large device volumes, opening new revenue streams and enabling Hrvatski Telekom and its partners to monetize IoT data and launch smart-city, energy and industrial services.
