Global Oilfield Services Company faced costly downhole failures and long nonproductive delays caused by extreme downhole conditions and aging drilling equipment. To turn its vast, untapped sensor data into actionable insight, the company partnered with Atos to deploy a cloud-based analytics platform—rooted in Atos Codex and an industrial analytics program—to analyze logging-while-drilling and asset-performance data for predictive diagnostics.

Atos assembled an agile team of data scientists and industry experts to automate field data processing, build predictive models and deploy them via a seamless firmware update, plus a flexible data lake on a SAS grid. The Atos solution delivered transparent root-cause analysis, survival-based preventive replacement recommendations, and a greater than 100 percent increase in MTBF, implemented with no disruption to operations and enabling the customer to run further analyses independently.
