Case Study: AdvantageCare Physicians cuts server costs 20% and accelerates Epic EHR with Atos

A Atos Case Study

Preview of the AdvantageCare Physicians Case Study

AdvantageCare Physicians (ACPNY) reduced IT costs as the first to run an Epic EHR system with more powerful Bull servers — while creating a separate Epic environment for an acquired practice

AdvantageCare Physicians (ACPNY), the largest primary and specialty care practice in the New York area, needed to lower IT costs and scale its Epic electronic health record (EHR) environment while onboarding an acquired nine‑facility practice that required a separate branded instance. Atos, which had provided ACPNY with hosted infrastructure and Epic managed services since 2013, proposed running Epic on Atos’ BullSequana S servers to meet performance and growth requirements.

Atos rearchitected and virtualized ACPNY’s environment on BullSequana S hardware, migrating more than 400 servers and reducing server count and costs by 20 percent. The Atos implementation improved SQL and Epic Cache performance (client response time down 0.2–0.5 seconds, exceptions down 1.5%), cut HEDIS ECDS registry creation time by 50 percent, and delivered a separate Epic MyChart instance and mobile experience for the acquired practice in under three weeks.
