Putting sustainability at the heart of pharmaceutical manufacturing Intuitive dashboard helps reduce carbon emissions at CPI

CPI, a UK technology innovation center, needed a more accurate way to measure and reduce the environmental impact of its Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre, a sustainability-focused pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. Working with Atos, CPI sought better visibility into its energy mix across the building so it could make greener production decisions and support more sustainable medicine manufacturing.

Atos implemented an intuitive, cloud-based sustainability dashboard built on CPI’s existing digital infrastructure and using open-source technologies and Power BI analytics. The solution provides detailed Scope 1 and 2 emissions reporting down to the room and asset level, predicts green power availability for the next two days, and supports scheduling of energy-intensive processes when renewable power is available. Atos says the approach could reduce emissions by up to 50% while improving scalability, cost efficiency, and future carbon tracking.
