Case Study: Centre for Sustainable Energy achieves a greener, lower-carbon website with Atomic Smash

A Atomic Smash Case Study

Centre for Sustainable Energy cuts CO₂ per page visit by 79.27% with Atomic Smash

The Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE), a national charity, required a greener, more accessible website to support its mission. They partnered with the digital agency Atomic Smash to overcome challenges including a high digital carbon footprint, difficulty demonstrating their impact, and a complex user experience for both visitors and their own content editors.

Atomic Smash designed and developed a sustainable website, implementing a low carbon hosting solution and a user-activated low power mode to reduce energy consumption. The new site featured improved navigation, accessible design, and a flexible content management system. The project resulted in a 79.27% reduction in CO₂ emissions per page view, with further savings available through the low power mode, creating a digital platform that aligns with CSE's environmental values.
