The City of Grand Rapids partnered with Atomic Object to create myGRcitypoints, a responsive web and mobile-web application designed to increase civic engagement. The city needed a way to incentivize residents to participate more actively in their community, starting with a familiar behavior: recycling.

Atomic Object built a scalable platform that awarded redeemable points for recycling, integrated real-time data from the City’s Public Services Department, and included a reward management system for local businesses. The rollout drove strong participation, supported environmental goals, and also delivered economic impact by shifting more household spending to locally owned businesses.
