OGSystems (OGS) is a Chantilly, VA-based systems integrator that supports the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and commercial clients, where security is paramount. With employees distributed across the U.S., OGS needed a single, secure, on-premise real-time collaboration platform to replace a mix of Microsoft Lync and GChat and to support staff working in the field.

Because OGS already used Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket and Bamboo, it adopted Atlassian Hipchat for cross-platform chat, screen sharing and video, with SSO and on-premise hosting. Hipchat’s integrations push notifications from Jira, Confluence, builds and repositories into team rooms, cutting app-switching and email threads, speeding issue resolution with consultants in the field and saving substantial time (one screen-share reportedly avoided about 20 emails).
