A Atlassian Case Study
OceanX, a Paramus, NJ–based technology platform that helps brands sell direct-to-consumer with subscription and membership services, faced fragmented work management: by 2013 the company was using nine different task-tracking systems across departments, creating inefficiency and inconsistent processes. VP of Information Systems Brandon Cipes led a strategy to standardize the company’s tools.
OceanX rolled out the Atlassian suite—Jira Software, Confluence, Jira Service Desk, Bitbucket and Bamboo—across engineering, product, marketing and facilities to centralize planning, collaboration, automation and documentation. The change cut software release cycles from two–three weeks to daily, improved testing and iteration, and fostered a more open, collaborative company culture while measurably boosting speed and efficiency.
