JIRA Data Center helps Cerner scale into the future

Cerner, a global healthcare technology company based in Kansas City, MO, needed to replace its homegrown issue-tracking system with a scalable, flexible solution that could support many different development teams and growing demand across its 21,000-employee organization.

Starting with a 20-developer adoption of Jira in 2008, Cerner centralized operations and customized the platform as use spread, then moved to Jira Data Center in October 2015 to add roughly 10,000 users. The environment now holds about 1.5M issues, 3M comments and 1,500 projects; working with an Atlassian Technical Account Manager and annual upgrades helped optimize performance, cutting outages from 55 in 2014 to seven in 2015 and positioning the company for even fewer incidents going forward.
