A Atlassian Confluence Case Study
Loblaw Digital, the in‑house software arm of Canada’s largest retailer, struggled with exponential growth and a hugely complex testing landscape—hundreds of permutations across brands, platforms, browsers and languages—while trying to reduce toil, increase productivity, and deliver faster. Existing test tools couldn’t handle their needs for manual and automated testing, native API/UI interfaces, Jira integration, permutation tracking, and clear results for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
By integrating Jira Software with Adaptavist Test Management for Jira (TM4J) and partnering with Adaptavist, the team built a customizable end‑to‑end testing workflow (including environment-based permutations, visual reports, a Slack automation “Jeanie,” and traceability matrices). The result: dramatically faster, simpler, scalable testing—releases moved from monthly to daily, the team runs ~200,000 tests a day, regression times fell by 250%, delivery velocity improved multiple‑fold, and the solution has been adopted across the enterprise.
