Case Study: SourceOne achieves agile, efficient software development with Atlassian Confluence

A Atlassian Confluence Case Study

Preview of the SourceOne Case Study

SourceOne develops state-of-the-art energy management software with Atlassian

SourceOne, a division of Veolia North America based in Boston, delivers a cloud-based Energy and Utility Management System that helps property owners — including the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey — monitor and reduce energy usage. A 16-person distributed development team producing a modular, complex application needed to become more agile; although they had Jira and Crowd, the toolchain wasn’t integrated and the process lacked efficiency and transparency.

The team migrated to a full Atlassian stack — adding Confluence, Bitbucket Server (for large repositories), Fisheye, Crucible, Bamboo, Hipchat and Jira Service Desk linked to a Confluence knowledge base — and integrated the tools for automated notifications and streamlined workflows. Adoption quickly spread across Metering, Finance and other business teams; development became more agile, collaborative and transparent, migrations and customizations were fast, and the company reports ongoing growth and faster delivery of state-of-the-art products.
