Case Study: Rent the Runway achieves faster, more transparent product releases with Atlassian Confluence

A Atlassian Confluence Case Study

Preview of the Rent the Runway Case Study

Rent the Runway relies on Atlassian for its high-end fashion experience

Rent the Runway is a New York–based fashion startup that lets customers rent designer dresses and accessories and has grown from a simple online catalog into a full-service retailer with its own warehouse, fulfillment operations, and a photo-driven shopping feature called Our Runway. As the company scaled, coordinating engineering, product, analytics, and marketing work became critical — and Rent the Runway needed a way to keep cross-functional teams aligned while moving quickly.

The company standardized on Jira and Confluence to manage projects, requirements, and collaboration across more than 20 engineers and multiple departments, using Confluence for specs and media-rich documentation and Jira for tracking, dashboards, and QA. The tools increased transparency and speed: releases moved from every two weeks toward a goal of weekly releases, with clearer coordination and more predictable, collaborative delivery.
