Powerhouse Museum Runs on Atlassian

The Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences (MAAS) in Sydney, which runs the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney Observatory and the Discovery Centre, needed a better way to coordinate public programs and exhibitions across many teams. Resource constraints and a reliance on email and scattered Google/Word docs made project tracking and collaboration cumbersome.

MAAS implemented Atlassian: Confluence as its intranet for project briefs and reviews, Jira to manage security, facilities, staffing, collections and interactive exhibits, HipChat for team conversations, and Jira Service Desk for visitor inquiries. The integrated tools streamlined collaboration, improved asset and risk management, sped up issue resolution and visitor support, and let the museum run exhibitions more effectively from concept to close.
