The U.S. Space Force faced a modernization challenge: legacy, custom launch-issue and verification systems were reaching end of life as launch tempo and operational complexity surged. Tasked with meeting DoD security requirements while improving mission assurance and reducing long development timelines and costs, the 5th Space Launch Squadron needed a faster, more flexible solution that could scale across teams.

Working with Atlassian solution partners Contegix and Silicon Mountain Technologies, the USSF built a tailored platform using Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence and deployed it on Platform One. The team moved from concept to launch in under six months, creating a single source of truth and self-service workflows that cut development time and costs, saved up to 120 data-processing hours per week for one squadron, and supported a 70% increase in launch tempo.
