How the Daily Telegraph’s IT team used Confluence to fuel tenfold growth

The Daily Telegraph, the UK’s #1 news brand reaching 2.1M viewers daily, faced slow resolution times and poor transparency after outsourcing IT. Technical teams lacked a living knowledge base, standard templates, or effective collaboration tools, so they routinely felt like they were starting from scratch on projects.

With help from Atlassian Platinum Expert Valiantys, the Telegraph implemented Jira Service Desk, Jira Software and Confluence; Confluence became a linked knowledge base and project repository with templates and blueprints. Adoption grew from 0 to 300 users (2014–2016), enabling faster onboarding, improved transparency and productivity, and quicker internal IT service resolution.
