Global Healthcare Exchange (GHX) connects hospitals and suppliers through a cloud-based trading exchange to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency. In 2014 GHX set out to adopt Git and agile across its 70+ engineering staff but needed enterprise-grade security and user management—Git alone and hosted services like GitHub left intellectual property and firewall/regulatory concerns unresolved.

GHX standardized on Atlassian: Bitbucket Server to keep code behind the firewall with branch permissions and merge controls, and Jira Software, Bamboo and Confluence (with cPrime training) to enable workflow management, continuous integration and collaboration; Jira Service Desk was adopted across IT, HR and finance. The integrated toolchain sped development, improved processes and productivity, delivered required security controls for compliance, and broadened Atlassian benefits company-wide.
