JAMF Software, a Minneapolis-based company that builds enterprise management tools for Apple devices used by more than 7,000 customers and 5.5 million devices, experienced rapid growth—expanding from 165 to 505 employees and doubling its engineering team—which left development processes struggling. Engineers could code quickly but were slowed by testing and build bottlenecks, prompting a need for stronger processes and DevOps practices to accelerate delivery.

DevOps Manager Michael Kren led a shift to a DevOps culture and an Atlassian toolchain—adopting Git, Bitbucket Server, Bamboo, Jira Software and Jira Service Desk, plus HipChat and Confluence integrations—to enable continuous delivery and automation. The changes improved cross-team collaboration, increased transparency and code quality, and shortened release cycles so JAMF now delivers software to customers faster than before.
