OGS prioritizes secure communication with Hipchat

OGSystems (OGS), a Chantilly, VA systems integrator serving the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, and commercial clients, needed a secure, on-premise real-time collaboration platform to unite a distributed workforce. Previously relying on Microsoft Lync and GChat, OGS sought a single, secure solution that worked for employees in the field and met strict government security requirements.

Because OGS already used Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket and Bamboo Server, it deployed Hipchat on-premise, gaining mobile, desktop and web access plus screen-sharing and single sign-on. Integrated notifications and build/issue updates improved visibility across development stages, sped problem resolution with field consultants, reduced email exchanges (one screen-share replaced roughly 20 emails), and saved the team significant time.
