A Atlassian Bamboo Case Study
Mercy Ships, the international NGO operating the world’s largest civilian hospital ship, needed a better way to coordinate complex global logistics for its free healthcare mission. Its 1,200 staff and volunteers had been relying on email, disconnected systems, and paper processes, which made it difficult to manage supplies, ship operations, and collaboration across continents. Atlassian Bamboo was part of the toolset used to support this transformation.
Mercy Ships implemented Atlassian solutions including Confluence, Jira Software, Jira Service Desk, HipChat, and Atlassian Bamboo for automated testing and development workflows. The result was improved communication and teamwork across the organization, better tracking of maintenance and shipments, and more efficient coordination of medical supplies and operations. Atlassian’s community licenses also helped Mercy Ships direct more funds toward life-saving surgeries instead of software costs.
