Case Study: Möbel Hubacher achieves high-performance VDI and increased mobility with Atlantis Computing

A Atlantis Computing Case Study

Preview of the Möbel Hubacher Case Study

Atlantis helps swiss furniture company improve performance with vdi solution

Möbel Hubacher, Switzerland’s largest furniture and carpet retailer with about 150 employees and a 30,000 sq. exhibition site, needed to replace an aging Microsoft Terminal Server farm and support greater mobility across sales, administration and logistics. Performance suffered when users opened large files (up to 500 MB), and the IT team required a scalable VDI platform that could maintain consistent I/O for demanding applications.

They deployed Atlantis USX software-defined storage on three IBM FLEX converged servers (384 GB RAM each) with VMware vSphere, presenting 100 GB NFS datastores and using in‑memory hyper‑deduplication (up to 90%). The result: virtual desktops that perform faster than physical workstations, each 100 GB volume supporting 50 desktops from a 50 GB master image, mirrored backups, desktop rollouts cut from 60 to 15 minutes, easier updates and stable production operation.
