Yape, the largest digital wallet in Peru with more than 13 million users, needed a modern data governance and cataloging solution to support its fast-growing data organization. As the company expanded beyond P2P payments into a broader digital ecosystem, it wanted a tool that was easy to use, integrated well with its Azure-based stack and Databricks lakehouse, and could help democratize data access across technical and business teams.

Yape implemented Atlan through a three-week proof of concept using its own data, running 5 use cases and 21 activities with support for integrations, metadata uploads, and workshops in Spanish. The evaluation scored Atlan 4.8/5 and led Yape to choose Atlan over competitors because of its strong Databricks integration, intuitive UI, AI and Data Mesh capabilities, and positive feedback from users and references, helping Yape move forward with a scalable data governance platform.
