Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) is the controlling authority for thoroughbred, harness, and greyhound racing in Western Australia, as well as off-course TAB wagering. To help its data platform team make data more visible, accessible, and trustworthy across the organization, RWWA evaluated active metadata management and chose Atlan, a modern data catalog and metadata management platform.

With Atlan, RWWA planned to surface lineage, data quality metrics, data classifications, and glossary terms alongside its data assets so teams could quickly find and trust the information they use. The solution was intended to improve data accessibility, completeness, accuracy, and timeliness for both technical users and business stakeholders; however, the case study does not provide quantified results yet, as implementation appears to be in progress.
