Personio, a Series E-funded HR software company, needed a better way to manage and find trusted data as its rapid growth made knowledge increasingly siloed across teams. With Snowflake, dbt, and Tableau in its stack, the company was struggling with fragmented documentation and Slack-based knowledge sharing, making it hard to connect data across departments and maintain a single source of truth.

To address this, Personio chose Atlan as its active metadata management and data catalog solution, using it to centralize metadata and create a primary repository for all data-related information. Atlan’s features, support, and implementation guidance helped Personio plan a “Google for data” approach that should improve discoverability, trust, and internal efficiency, though the case study does not provide measurable numeric results yet.
