Jonathan Adler, the furniture & home decor brand on Shopify Plus, faced a clunky tech stack that left them unable to classify and group a large product catalog—search results were inefficient, merchandising was manual and time-consuming, and out-of-stock items could still appear. To fix this, Jonathan Adler partnered with Searchspring (with agency Verbal+Visual) and implemented Searchspring’s Search & Autocomplete, Category Merchandising, and Category Navigation.

Searchspring worked with Jonathan Adler and Verbal+Visual to analyze product data, add filters like color, material, and collection, automate merchandising, and apply global boost rules for inventory accuracy. The results during the 2021 holiday season: 13% of shoppers used site search, accounting for 38% of orders and 34% of overall revenue, and search users converted at 4x the rate of non-search shoppers.
