Topps Tiles, the UK’s number one tiling specialist, needed a search and discovery tool that could support both its B2C retail site and B2B trade site after launching a new headless website with Tom&Co. With a large product catalogue and different types of users, including shoppers, store colleagues, tradespeople, and home consumers, the company wanted relevant results, mobile support, machine learning, speed, and an intuitive way to manage redirects and synonyms.

Topps Tiles implemented Athos Commerce Smart Search, first on its B2C site in 2022 and then across the trade site, with related terms, advice content, and product images shown in search overlays. After working with Athos Commerce, Topps Tiles reported a 49% uplift in searches on its retail website, a 41% uplift in searches on its trade website, and a 23% increase in revenue, while also cutting manual search-related work by about half.
