Privia Health tests 25 features in 2025 with AthenaHealth

Privia Health, a large healthcare organization with over 4,800 providers, faced the challenge of rapidly deploying new technological features at scale. They needed to empower their physicians with the latest innovations, embrace change without a large IT burden, and have a voice in product development. To meet these challenges, they partnered with athenahealth and utilized its athenaOne platform.

The solution implemented by athenahealth involved providing Privia Health with early access to new features through alpha and beta testing programs within the cloud-based athenaOne EHR. This allowed Privia to test and provide feedback on features prior to general release. The results were significant; Privia tested 177 features over five years, including 25 in 2025 alone. This gave their physicians early access to tools like Ambient Notes, saving them time and enabling more meaningful patient engagement, while also allowing Privia to help shape the full rollout of new features.
