Getting Out and Staying Out (GOSO), a New York City reentry nonprofit, needed to replace its existing outcomes tracking software and better manage data across programs serving young men returning from incarceration. GOSO also wanted a system that could support paperless operations, stronger reporting, and smoother transitions for staff and clients.

Athena Software implemented Penelope using a staggered rollout across Rikers Island, Upstate Correspondence, and GOSO in the Community, including staff training, data migration, configuration, and testing. The transition took about three months and finished ahead of schedule, giving GOSO accurate reporting from day one, easier access to data through built-in reports and ODBC export to Excel, and the ability to create unlimited smart forms and assessments to reduce paperwork and support future growth.
