Children’s Foundation, a charitable nonprofit in British Columbia that supports vulnerable children and families through counseling, assessments, school-day programming, parenting courses, and foster care support, needed a better way to manage client data and reporting. In 2010, the organization evaluated three systems and chose Athena Software’s Penelope case management software, with data migration as a key requirement.

Athena Software implemented Penelope on-site over two to three months, including migration of multiple layers of data and end-user training to support a smooth go-live. The Children’s Foundation now uses Penelope for flexible reporting through Excel pivot tables and built-in reports, helping them meet provincial government funding requirements and track both service-specific and agency-wide metrics across the organization.
