National United University, a state-funded university in Taiwan, faced the challenge of centrally managing a new large-scale service room. They needed a solution for remote server and power control to limit physical access, while also requiring real-time environmental monitoring to conserve energy. To address this, they turned to vendor ATEN for its enterprise-class solutions.

ATEN implemented a solution featuring its KVM over IP switches, eco PDU power distribution units, and energy management software. This provided centralized remote control of all servers and power outlets, along with detailed power consumption monitoring. The results were significant, achieving a PUE value under 1.6 which led to an annual saving of approximately $96,000 in electricity and a reduction of about 1,000 tons in carbon emissions.
