Preview of the Government Institution Case Study

Information management and security control to prevent the leakage of confidential government and personal data from public computers

A government institution required a secure technical solution to separate internet-connected computers from internal workstations containing sensitive data, all while allowing staff to easily and instantly switch between the two systems. To meet this information management and security challenge, the institution implemented a KVM switch solution from ATEN.

ATEN provided its CS682 2-Port USB 2.0 DVI KVM Switch, which allowed one set of peripherals to control two separate computers. Key features of the ATEN solution included secure port switching via a remote selector, superior DVI video quality, and support for multimedia and various operating systems. This setup successfully enabled the institution to maintain a strict security posture by physically isolating networks while ensuring staff productivity was not impacted.
