Major Canadian Retailer, one of Canada’s largest retailers, faced fragmented customer data across multiple operations and eight source systems totaling 100+ million records, with widespread duplicate records and a legacy MDM using 800+ redundant matching rules. The retailer engaged Ataccama to deliver a customer data integration solution to build a 360-degree customer view to support marketing, analytics, reporting and fraud protection for its banking service.
Ataccama designed and implemented the integration, performing cleansing, standardization, mastering and consolidation using deterministic, fuzzy and machine‑learning matching and interpretation. The project consolidated 100+ million records from eight source systems, reduced legacy matching rules to roughly 300, and enabled the retailer to add five more source systems without further vendor help by reusing configurations—dramatically improving customer analytics, marketing campaign management and paving the way for real‑time interactions and Hadoop-based decision management.
