Leading French Retailer was operating a distributed data environment where 17 source systems fed a central customer repository that was cleansed monthly by a third party, which erased history and made it impossible to assess the relevance of matched records. The retailer engaged Ataccama to deliver an integrated MDM solution (Ataccama ONE) to funnel data from all sources into a single system that would perform cleansing and matching while preserving data history.

Ataccama implemented a phased solution—mediating data flows, then replacing the third party by migrating and extending matching/merging rules into Ataccama ONE. The deployment improved validations, cleansing and matching (revealing previously hidden customer links and enabling future householding), provided full traceability to data origins, supported high availability for daily operations, simplified onboarding of new sources, and reduced maintenance costs versus the prior distributed approach.
