Canadian City Government - Customer Case Study

The Canadian City Government engaged Ataccama to address widespread data duplication, ineffective sharing between large departmental systems, and a lack of formal data governance across hundreds of municipal services. The city required a Master Data Management and Data Governance solution—a common data model, services (including batch interfaces) for legacy systems, identity management for authoritative entities, and access controls—to create a shared, trusted repository of core city entities.

Ataccama implemented a city-wide data-sharing hub using transactional MDM, defining a central data model, building integration services, managing identity resolution, and enforcing security policies. The implementation delivered automated cleansing, matching and merging to produce golden records, a managed MDM repository, legacy compatibility, and a collaborative monitoring dashboard—resulting in a single authoritative view of shared information, reduced duplication, improved data quality and easier, policy-controlled access to city data.
