Avast engaged Ataccama to deliver a complete customer master data solution—an MDM hub—to improve customer experience and meet stringent data privacy standards such as GDPR. Avast faced rapid growth by acquisition and needed a single customer view across massive volumes (435+ million monthly active users, 1.5 billion monthly malware events, 200 billion URLs checked monthly) with tight regulatory deadlines.

Ataccama built the MDM hub and services within the required five-month timeframe, using integration patterns including Kafka streaming, ESB web services and ETL batch/micro-batch processes to centralize personal data, metadata and consent records. The Ataccama solution enforces retention and pseudonymization policies, supports GDPR rights (access, portability, erasure), acts as a business-rule engine across CRM, e‑commerce, campaign, BI and data lake systems, and enabled Avast to achieve GDPR compliance at scale while streamlining consent and data-access workflows.
