Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) is a global organisation that fights poverty by placing volunteers with local partners to build health, education and livelihood programmes. Facing the end of its UK lease, VSO decided to downsize and needed a straightforward, accessible hotdesking system that employees could use from any browser or smartphone and that integrated with Microsoft Outlook to ensure everyone had a desk when they came into the smaller office.

VSO implemented AsureSpace Workspace Manager with touch panels and kiosks to provide anywhere access and a visual booking experience, helping staff sit near teammates when needed. The solution let 320 people be accommodated in 180 desks (almost a 2:1 ratio), delivered annual savings of £400,000, and freed funds to be reinvested in VSO’s programmes.
