Societe Generale, one of the world's largest financial institutions, faced challenges scaling and standardizing its data orchestration. The bank operated multiple legacy schedulers, which created fragmentation and overhead. Manually provisioning Apache Airflow instances was slow, and strict regulatory requirements made building a secure, internal platform difficult. They partnered with vendor Astronomer, Inc. to overcome these hurdles and build a bank-grade Airflow-as-a-Service.

With Astronomer's technical support and architectural guidance, Societe Generale built a fully automated, Kubernetes-based Airflow platform. This solution enabled on-demand provisioning for internal teams. The results were significant, including over 500 production deployments and support for 1,000+ engineers. The platform consolidated four legacy orchestrators, reduced provisioning from a week to on-demand, and allowed teams to migrate off costly legacy tools in just months.
