United Methodist Church Selects Astera to Integrate Complex Data Across Conferences Nationwide

The United Methodist Church’s General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA) was tasked with consolidating and reporting financial and administrative data from 59 annual conferences, each using different homegrown and commercial systems with varying structures and semantics. Their manual consolidation process was slow—often leaving the consolidated data weeks or months out of date—so GCFA needed a modern, easy-to-learn solution that could handle complex transformations, cleansing, job orchestration, scheduling and a wide variety of databases and formats.

GCFA ran a proof of concept and selected Astera for its high-performance, scalable data integration platform and drag-and-drop usability. Astera enabled end-to-end integrations, rapid adoption using SQL source and lookup components, and automated data syncing, mapping and transformation. As a result, GCFA automated the integration process and can now access up-to-date consolidated data whenever needed.
