Maximizing Workflow Configurability for Effective Deviation Management

Toray Composite Materials America (Toray CMA), a subsidiary of Toray Industries, designs and manufactures advanced materials for aerospace, automotive, and other industries. By 2013 Toray CMA was managing nonconformances on paper, which made reporting, trend analysis, escalation, approvals and archive retrieval slow and error-prone, prompting a search for an automated, configurable quality system.

In December 2013 Toray CMA implemented AssurX’s highly configurable QMS and, with professional services and internal training, built over 60 action-request forms to automate complaints, deviations, CAPA, change requests and audits without source-code changes. The result was centralized, auditable records, faster routing and resolution, reduced labor and paper use, improved trend-based decision‑making, and streamlined ISO 9001/AS9100 audit readiness—plus adoption across a dozen+ departments.
