ASML, the Dutch manufacturer of chip-making equipment, needed a way to train thousands of users across business lines more efficiently as it rolled out a major business process improvement program spanning SAP and homegrown applications. Its existing slide-based and informal peer-to-peer training methods were too passive, inconsistent, and too slow to meet the growing demand for training material, so it turned to Assima and its interactive simulation authoring tool.

With Assima, ASML created hyper-realistic, guided software simulations that users could access online 24/7 for asynchronous learning, while Assima consultants helped accelerate content development. The result was a complete library of training modules and curricula, more agile cross-country collaboration, and content delivery that ASML estimated was 25-50% faster, with training effective for 4,000 users and an overall improvement of up to 50% in content delivery speed.
