SAM’s Field Crews Track, Manage Equipment With Asset Panda’s Mobile App

SAM, founded in 1994, is a leading full-service geospatial firm offering land surveying, utility coordination, aerial mapping, SUE, GIS and construction services through its SAM‑CS subsidiary. Based in Austin with more than 175 field crews and 900 staff across multiple U.S. locations, SAM struggled to track distributed field equipment using manual Excel spreadsheets, which was time-consuming and difficult to maintain.

Since March 2018 SAM has used Asset Panda’s mobile and web apps—favoring the mobile app for crews—to manage check‑in/check‑out, multi‑location asset tracking, inventory and real‑time data with Microsoft Active Directory integration. The solution simplified workflows, improved accuracy of utilization and reporting, saves about an hour of work per day, and has required no support escalations.
