Using Asset Bank to Share Films Quickly and Efficiently All Over the World

The Focolare Movement, a global organisation active in 194 countries, needed a faster, more efficient way to share its audiovisual material with local and regional centres. CSC Media (the movement’s in‑house A/V team) was moving from mailing physical DVDs and digitising a 10,000‑tape archive, and required a secure Media Asset Management system to distribute videos worldwide.

In March 2014 CSC launched an Asset Bank library that gives regional centres instant, permission‑based access via secure logins. Videos are stored as H.264 files with embedded metadata that transfers automatically on download (playable in VLC or iTunes), eliminating local archiving work. The system improved workflow by harvesting metadata, linking related assets and controlling permissions, and has received positive user feedback for usability, affordability and support.
