National Congress Of American Indians - Customer Case Study

The National Congress of American Indians (NCAI), founded in 1944 with over 80 years of organizational history and more than 4,000 policy documents, faced a major challenge: vital resolutions and newsletters were buried in paper archives and an unwieldy shared drive, making research take hours and hampering use of historical materials. The team needed a searchable, central repository to digitise, organise and surface decades of records for everyday use.

NCAI implemented Asset Bank to digitise and tag its collections (title, date adopted, subject, keywords and relevant tribal nations) and upload searchable PDFs including past editions of The Sentinel. The result is a central, filterable library that delivers documents in a few clicks, saves staff hours, supports new projects like a history-based blog and podcast, enables collaboration with Smithsonian archivists, and will soon allow public access via a linked website.
